Position Available: 4th Grade Teacher

Our school seeks a professional, experienced and passionate educator to teach 4th grade and join our vibrant team of faculty. The qualified candidate will have teaching experience at the elementary level, background/interest/passion for teaching language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science in a self contained classroom. A bachelor’s degree in a related educational field is required.

Successful candidates will have sound pedagogical skills, experience with teaching Everyday Math, knowledge of and experience with a balanced literacy program, patience, highly developed writing and organizational skills, and the desire to build positive and meaningful relationships with students in a manner consistent with our child-centered, integrated, and developmentally appropriate curriculum. Advanced degree preferred but not required.

Position Available: Director of After School and Summer Camp Programs

Our school seeks a professional, experienced and dynamic leader and educator to direct our After School and Summer Camp Programs. The position begins in the summer of 2012. The qualified candidate will have experience working with children, developing new educational programs, hiring and supervising adults, communicating with parents, and marketing and advertising. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, advanced degree preferred.

Successful candidates will have sound pedagogical skills, passion for working with children in a non-traditional setting, superior people skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, highly developed writing and organizational skills, and the desire to build positive and meaningful relationships with students and parents in a manner consistent with our school’s mission and educational philosophy.

Going into the 2012-2013 school year, we expect this position to be part-time (24 hours per week) with potential for the job to grow to full-time with increased student participation and interest in our After School and Summer Camp Programs. Because our school does not currently operate a summer camp, there is considerable need to hire someone with start-up experience as well as interest in developing new educational programs to enhance our school’s offerings.

Position Available: K-8 Spanish Teacher

Our school seeks an innovative, organized, and joyful Spanish teacher to teach students in our K-8th grade. The position will begin in August of 2012. The qualified candidate has teaching experience at the middle and/or elementary level in Spanish, highly developed organizational and pedagogical skills, skill and love for teaching a wide age range of learners, commitment to personal and professional growth, and enthusiasm for collaborating with other faculty and staff to advance Greene Street’s institutional goals and mission. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to build on a well-established and successful Spanish program that also includes a cultural exchange program with a school in Costa Rica. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
