Concetta Errichiello

middle school

Concetta recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Social Studies and English Language Arts Education. She was the recipient of the NC State College of Education Golden Apple Future Teacher Award for academics and student teaching. While at NC State, Concetta worked on initiatives that introduced middle schoolers to diverse literature in an effort to spark a love for reading. Concetta also acted as a writing mentor to middle school students in hopes to encourage their inner voice through poetry. Throughout her time at NC State she volunteered as a committee member and camp counselor with her university’s Camp Kesem chapter, an organization that supports children with parents battling cancer by providing the kids a free week of summer camp.

Last summer, Concetta worked with a local Quaker school in her hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina as a camp counselor and program lead. There she helped run the cooking, outdoors, photography, woodworking, and DIY camp. She thoroughly enjoyed building meaningful relationships with the campers and the staff through super fun and rewarding educational activities. The summer before her junior year at NC State, Concetta had the wonderful opportunity of traveling abroad to teach English at several Italian summer camps. There she worked with children varying of ages from 6 to 12 years old.

Outside of school, Concetta loves traveling and soaking in the great outdoors. Concetta recently traveled out west to Mill Valley, California to see the beautiful redwoods and hike. She is delighted to begin her career with Greene Street Friends School this fall.
