School CommitteeGreen Street Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, which operates the School, appoints the School Committee to act as the governing board for the School. Members of the Committee are drawn from Green Street Monthly Meeting, other local Friends Meetings, and the School community. Through the Head of School, the Committee oversees finances, staffing, scholarships and program, as well as maintenance of the property. The Head of School is appointed by the School Committee and is directly responsible to it for the daily operation of the School.
Finance Committee The Finance Committee works with the Business Office to assure sound financial management of the School and to seek opportunities for improving operating efficiencies. The committee plays a key role in developing the strategic financial plans necessary to support the strategic goals set by the School Committee. Among these goals are upgrades to the faculty and staff compensation program, strengthening our academic program and making improvements to the physical character of the School. Governance Committee The Governance Committee works to make sure the School Committee has established the appropriate process for carrying out its responsibility for governing the School. In this capacity, it manages the evaluation process for the School Committee, its subcommittees, individual members and the Head of School. It also recommends new members for the approval of the Meeting. The committee plays a leadership role in the strategic planning process. Property Committee The responsibilities of the Property Committee focus on the physical environment and security of the School. It works in close conjunction with the Property Committee of the Monthly Meeting, and is guided by the Strategic Plan. The Property Committee oversees the development and maintenance of the size and space needs appropriate to the right functioning of the School, ensuring sound property management policies and practices. It is responsible for considering any proposed expansion, acquisition, or alteration of the School’s physical property and providing guidance to the School Committee. |
