Germs Come to Life at Hygiene AssemblyGreene Street Friends School faculty have been emphasizing good hygiene etiquette as the best way of keeping students healthy, but on Friday, October 2, fourth graders in Jane White's class took matters into their own hands by presenting three skits in Lower School Assembly. A girl coughs into her hand and then gives her classmate a high-five. Then she shares a toy she coughed on with her friend. He gets sick and all the germs run around him saying, "Germs, germs, germs!" Another skit showed larger-than-life size germs slowly and dramatically dying as a student takes 20 seconds to wash her hands. What happens when you drop a sandwich on the floor and then eat it anyway? Lower Schoolers found out as the third skit zoomed down to the microsopic level with students portraying happy germs partying on the giant sandwich, which was actually a gym mat. Fourth graders chose their own themes and worked in teams to present the skits. A highlight for many was creating their own costumes. "It was really fun," said one.
