Greek Gods Come to Life at Wax MuseumFrom Athena to Zeus, ancient gods came to life at Greene Street Friends School's Ancient Greek and Roman Wax Museum performed by the fourth grade on June 4. Each student chose a god or eminent historical figure to portay, researched that character, wrote a paper, and created a costume that included signature symbols and attributes. Parents were invited to the Wax Museum and activated a performance by pressing a start button on or near the character. Aphrodite explained that while she was married to Hephaestus, she really loved Aries, the Minotaur roamed the School's labyrinth, and Socrates asked participants if they knew the definition of ethics. Fourth grade teacher, Jane White noted, "The students demonstrated their understanding not only of their characters but also of the often complex relationships among these ancient gods." |
