Students Travel the Globe at International Day

A glorious sunny sky and a cool breeze that rustled the trees set the stage for Greene Street’s annual International Day celebration.

On a whirlwind tour of the world, students learned how coffee and sugar are made in Costa Rica and helped make a sand Mandala in India. Visitors to France saw the Eiffel Tower and learned about bicycle safety. Students headed for adventure in Greece tried their hand at writing the Greek alphabet, while visitors to Kenya created traditional toys from found materials. Australia, hosted by the 1/2 cluster, offered visitors a look at the continent’s varied geography and cultural traditions. Visitors to the United States ate apple pie and learned the Charleston with the eighth grade.

As a special treat, our world travelers relaxed with their partners in the shade of the Meeting House for an incredibly creative performance by Give and Take Jugglers. Thank you to all of the parents who shared the morning with us.
