Futures Planning ProcessGreene Street Friends School and Green Street Monthly Meeting have had the good fortune, due to the generous gift from an alumna, to acquire the adjacent Citizens Bank property. Good planning created favorable circumstances for a serendipitous opportunity, which finally arose. It’s been some years now since the school reviewed space usage and needs at Greene Street Friends School, and this acquisition allows the opportunity to rethink the School’s needs in an overall way that will inform the School’s master planning process. The Futures Committee formed in April 2009 and is working to identify large-scale needs and important values. Such an approach will ensure that Greene Street’s vision and mission will continue to inform a future planning process for facilities and spaces rather than vice versa. Russ Endo, a member of Green Street Meeting and a member of the School Committee, and Koof Kalkstein ’68, a member of the School of the School Committee, serve as co-clerks of the Futures Committee. The Committee is in the process of consulting with key constituencies of the School. |
