Message from the PA President

School is in full swing and we have already had two terrific events. The back to school dinner was a huge success, with good food and great friends getting together to kick off the new year. We also went out to Camden and watched some baseball and some fireworks. It’s been wonderful seeing familiar faces and meeting new families. 

Over the past three years, GSFS has been engaged in a planning process aimed at expanding our current physical site and building new facilities and spaces for play, physical education, and performance. This process has involved all parts of the GSFS community—parents, teachers, students, administrators, and members of Green Street Monthly Meeting. Based on broad input from all of these groups, a master plan was completed in 2010 which laid the conceptual groundwork for this expansion. DIGSAU, the architectural firm who we worked with to complete the Master Plan, has now been hired to take the process to its next step, which involves further fleshing out of the Master Plan concepts and taking the design to the next level.

Our next Parent’s Association meeting is Monday, October 3 at 7PM

Please come join the Parents Association, members of the GSFS Property Committee, and representatives from DIGSAU on Monday, October 3rd, for an update and conversation about the design and current ideas for moving ahead.

We will also discuss all parent-led projects so there is still plenty of time to get involved!
