Jackalyn Shields (4th Grade Lead Teacher)

Jackalyn (she/her) is thrilled to be entering her second year as a 4th grade lead teacher here at GSFS. Jackalyn grew up in the northeast section of Philadelphia. In 2019, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a year later received her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Jackalyn has a passion for middle level education. Jackalyn especially loves social studies and English! She has spent her teaching career in 5th grade and 7th grade classrooms. She is ready to continue her teaching career as the 4th grade lead teacher at Greene Street.

Jackalyn believes in creating a joy-filled learning environment. She hopes to help her students grow as individuals and inspire them to bring goodness into the world. She strives to instill a love for learning in her students everyday they come to GSFS. Outside of school, Jackalyn enjoys spending time in and around Philadelphia searching for new restaurants, enjoying the beauty of the  museums, parks, and trails, and appreciating the cultural experiences of the city!
