Financial Aid

Greene Street Friends School is committed to making a private school education possible to as many students as possible. To that end, Greene Street offers scholarships to any eligible student in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 8. To receive full consideration for financial aid, the completed application is due by January 1.

Financial aid awards are made on the basis of financial need and no full-tuition awards are given. Approximately 45% of our students receive awards, ranging from $500 to half of tuition, totaling approximately $825,000 each year.

Greene Street uses School and Student Services (SSS), a service of the National Association of Independent Schools, to help determine financial aid awards. SSS calculates an estimate of the amount a family can contribute to educational expenses based on the financial information provided. This estimate, along with additional information the family shares with us explaining any special circumstances, enables us to make fair decisions.

You are encouraged to fill out your SSS form online, though the paper version of the financial aid application is available through the Admission Office.

Greene Street is also grateful to a number of partner organizations that provide scholarships for private school tuition. Each has its own eligibility requirements, and sometimes recipients are chosen by lottery. Below are links to some of our partners.
