Julia is thrilled to be entering her fourth year at Greene Street Friends School. She is excited to be returning as the School Librarian and Technology Coordinator as well as adding 3/4/5 Science Teacher to her responsibilities! Her job this year combines her two favorite passions in teaching - connecting kids with books and engaging them in hands-on learning. She has also served on the school's Diversity Committee and is a facilitator of the 7/8 racial affinity groups.

Julia holds a B.S. in Psychology and Biology from St. Lawrence University and an M.S. in Child Life and Family-Centered Care from Wheelock College. She has over 20 years of experience working with children and families, including 6 years as a Child Life Specialist in Minneapolis. She also participated in the Race Institute for K-12 Educators in the Fall of 2015 and is a member of the American Library Association and the American Association of School Librarians.

Julia is the parent of two Greene Street middle schoolers and loves having her whole family be part of the school community. When not at school, she enjoys exploring new places, traveling with her family, curling up with a good book, and connecting with innovative educators around the country on social media. You can follow her on Instagram and Twitter at @Quakerlibrarian.
