Danielle Vasquez - Librarian

lower school

Danielle (she/her) is joining the Greene Street Friends community with great excitement as she steps into the librarian position. Born in Michigan, she frequently explored the woods with a book in hand, discovering that storytelling in its many forms is one of the most powerful and important tools. Upon moving to Philadelphia 13 years ago, she quickly discovered the wonder of the city and the vibrant communities that make it so beautiful.

She has had the joy of working with children in various roles, from garden education with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation to early education with Waldorf Schools. Danielle holds a bachelor's degree in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's in Library and Information Science from Drexel University. She hopes to bring her love for stories, community, and student-led learning into her role at GSF.

Danielle lives with her three children, husband, and adorable but wild dog. In her free time, you might find her exploring the Wissahickon, gardening, crafting, reading, or trying to learn piano.
