Esther Sitrin (1st Grade Lead Teacher)

lower school

Esther (she/her) is very excited to begin her second year at Greene Street Friends Community as a lead teacher in 1st grade. She spent the past 17 years teaching at Newtown Friends School, and she is passionate about Quaker Education.  Esther loves teaching first grade and especially seeing how students progress into readers and writers as the year unfolds!  Esther has a B.A. in Sociology from UMASS, Amherst and a Master’s degree from Lesley University in Early Childhood Education.  Esther’s daughter will be in second grade this year.

Esther has a side hustle teaching yoga, and she also likes to bring yoga poses into the classroom.  In her free time, Esther might be reading, playing board games with her daughter or hitting the trails at the Wissahickon!
