The collection at Greene Street Friends represents the diversity of our students and their families. Our goal is for all children to see themselves within the pages of the books, and to also learn about others and their experiences. We add to our nearly 10,000 volume collection throughout the year, keeping up to date with new titles and authors. We even take requests from students!!Our Librarian leads read-alouds, helps students explore the collection and their interests, and designs student-centered activities. The Librarian features examples from our collection during monthly celebrations such as Hispanic Heritage Month, Women's History Month, Black History Month, and AAPI Heritage Month. The Librarian also spotlights aspects of our Quaker values through literature in the collection.
All Lower School students have Library class weekly. Students may check out books at the end of Library class and take them home. Each year the Library hosts a Book Fair where books may be purchased.
