The Parents Association invites all parents as well as middle school students to a special screening of the movie Selma. Selma was released in 2014 and it tells the story of the 1965 Selma to Montgomery marches for voting rights for African Americans. Those marches were led by activists James Bevel, Hosea Williams, and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Again, this screening is open to the entire parent community and Dean of the Middle School Kiri Harris encourages all middle school students to attend as well.
We hope to see you next Thursday, May 14 at 6:15pm in the Armat Street Auditorium. Free childcare will be available.
Kiri will lead a follow-up discussion with the middle schools students the next day. She also prepared a guide for students and parents to review before watching the movie.
