Volunteer Opportunities
One of the many things that make GSFS so special is our incredible community of families, who not only attend and support the things happening at school, but who also volunteer their time and energy to those events. Volunteers make everything possible!
Here are some upcoming ways to volunteer and/or get involved here at Greene Street. If you have questions about any of these things, please email us: pca@greenestreetfriends.org.
PCA INTEREST FORM: There are so many ways to get involved here at GSFS! CLICK HERE to be taken to the PCA Interest Form, where you can sign-up, and let us know how you'd like to get involved.
THE LION'S STORY: On Saturday, February 21, 2026 @5-8pm, GSFS will be hosting The Lion's Story. This signature annual event is a community favorite, bringing us together in celebration of Black history and culture. The evening will feature a showcase of student learning, a delicious soul food dinner, and featured performance by poet and musician Yolanda Wisher. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, kitchen help, food service, and clean-up. CLICK HERE TO VOLUNTEER.
PIZZA WEDNESDAYS: Every year, our largest and most successful fundraiser for our 8th grader's Costa Rica trip is Pizza Wednesdays. It's not even close! The students love pizza, and we love being able to raise funds that help make the Costa Rica trip possible for every member of the class, regardless of their family's financial situation. Pizza Wednesday needs volunteers! If your schedule on Wednesdays has flexibility, we need volunteers between 11am-1pm each week. CLICK HERE TO VOLUNTEER.
FRIENDS MUTUAL AID MARKET: Taking inspiration from the Germantown Community Fridge and their motto of, "Take what you need, leave what you can," GSFS is excited to announce our inaugural Friends Mutual Aid Market on Saturday, April 11, 2026 @9am-12pm.
The goal for this pop-up market is two-fold- to help our friends and neighbors shop for household items they may need for free (or very little $), while simultaneously helping folks to reduce and reuse, as we collect donations in the weeks and months leading up.
Donation Fridays are being held on 2/20, 2/27, 3/6, 3/13, & 3/27. In anticipation of all these donations, volunteers are needed! The PCA is seeking volunteers to help handle donation intake on Fridays between now and April. CLICK HERE TO VOLUNTEER. Want to volunteer and/or get involved but Fridays at 3pm doesn't work? Please email Michi Hunt (mhunt@greenestreetfriends.org).
