Heather Robinson Green (1st Grade Lead Teacher)

lower school

Heather (she/her) is enthusiastic about joining the Greene Street Friends community this year. As a career educator, she transitioned from middle school to early elementary roles several years ago. She is passionate about joy in the classroom, approaching challenges as avenues for growth, and providing children with multiple opportunities to experience academic and social success. Heather works intentionally to ensure her classroom includes student exploration, laughter, and a climate of belonging and becoming.

A Texas native, Heather considers Philadelphia her adopted home. She and her husband live in Old City with their senior dog, Maggie, and a spunky guinea pig. They are actively involved in their community, dog rescue, and exploring our great city. Heather is an avid reader and math lover; she appreciates how crucial literacy in all forms is to personal development and having a positive role in an equitable society.

Heather has an undergraduate degree in health sciences, a graduate degree in interdisciplinary studies, and a graduate certificate in dispute resolution. Her prior school roles have provided her with in-depth experiences in social-emotional learning, child brain development, and restorative practices. She is an ongoing learner of anti-bias and anti-racism within and out of the classroom.
