Welcome from Kareem Rogers, Lower School Dean

I enter this year as Lower School Dean at Greene Street Friends with much hope and excitement. The 2024-2025 school year will be one where we will focus on connections with the entire community: students, parents, caregivers, teachers and staff. We will laugh, learn, and grow together this year.

GSFS Lower School is a great mix of academics, SEL, and various other programs that celebrate diversity, promote cultural awareness, and community engagement. Here are a few of the exciting things you will see during our school year:

You've Been Caught Greene Handed is when we recognize and celebrate our students who consistently model and/or show improvement modeling one or more of our SPICES (Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equity, Stewardship).  In addition to recognizing our students with a certificate and including them in our monthly newsletter, we set aside one Assembly a month for this awesome time of recognition and celebration.

During the month of November we will kick-off our Kindness 360 Initiative.  We encourage our students, caregivers, and our surrounding community to display and share our core value of Kindness with themselves and those around them. When you step on our campus you will certainly feel the kindness.

March brings our annual Pi Day when we learn about and celebrate the mathematical concept of Pi. Lower and Middle School students collaborate on projects, create murals, and connect math across other disciplines in a fun way.

Stay tuned for many more engaging and memorable opportunities to learn and have fun together this school year!!
