Please join us in congratulating the Class of 2015 and welcoming them to the Greene Street Friends School Alumni Association! On Friday, June 5, the seventeen members of the Class of 2015 celebrated their many accomplishments at Greene Street Friends in an afternoon ceremony.
In keeping with GSFS tradition, each graduate entered the Green Street Monthly Meetinghouse accompanied by a 7th grade student. Each student was given the opportunity speak, reflecting on their time at Greene Street Friends and looking forward toward high school. Said Colin, ""Greene Street taught me many things about who I am as a person. I learned that I should be myself, be respectful to others, be creative, stand out, shoot for the stars, never let anyone tell me who I should be, to stand up for what I believe in."
Jungju noted that, “I have been at Greene Street for four years. I have not grown much since in height, but anyone who’d known me then will tell you that I have grown emotionally. Everybody in my life – my family, my classmates, my teachers – has had some influence on some aspect of who I am today.”
“Greene Street is like another home to me and I always feel accepted. I will always keep the spirit of Greene Street in my heart no matter where I go,” concluded Ethan.
Emily Hargroves Fisher '49 gave the induction into the Alumni Association. She emphasized what being a GSFS alumna means to her and what she and the new graduates have in common, simply by all having experienced a Greene Street Friends School education - even if many decades apart.
