GSFS Community Gathers to Say Farewell to Graduates

On Thursday morning, students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 gathered in the Meetinghouse for a final assembly dedicated to the Class of 2015.

Faculty members presented awards to the graduates based on their strengths as students, leaders, artists, and community members. Additionally, Middle School students received awards for participation in sports, yearbook, TORCH, and WINGS. The Spirit of Greene Street award was presented to Ethan and Jacob.

PE teacher Rob spoke about the Class of 2015, highlighting events over the past 10 years at GSFS and in the world. As a former math teacher, Rob focused on the graduates' experiences by the numbers: 17 students, 1,720 school days (give or take a few snow days), 10 days in Costa Rica, 5 bases and outs in Parcheesi Ball, and so on. He also encouraged them to return to campus often - and not just for siblings' graduations.

Zach and Finn presented their class gift to the School: a bench for the field so students and members of the community can watch our students at play.

The 7th grade sang "Time of Your Life" by Green Day, followed by the 8th grade's performance of "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey.
As the 8th grade students left, the 7th grade filled their seats in the front of the Meetinghouse, a symbol of the closing of this year and the transition into a new one.
