Claire Toland (she/her) is a seasoned educator with a 17-year tenure in teaching, blending a diverse educational background encompassing accounting, finance, and elementary education. Seeking to ignite passion in mathematics, Claire is excited to take on the role of 7/8 Math Teacher and 7th-grade homeroom Teacher at Greene Street Friends School. Her teaching expertise spans various roles, primarily in Philadelphia schools where she meticulously crafted engaging math curricula for grades 5 through 8. Her teaching philosophy revolves around personalized guidance and innovative strategies, leveraging technology to create interactive lessons tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities.


With a Master's in Elementary Education from West Chester University and a multifaceted academic foundation from St. Joseph's University and Rosemont College, Claire brings a unique blend of pedagogical knowledge and business acumen to her educational approach. Her instructional approach is fortified by certifications in grades K-6, Middle School Math, and Science, underlining her commitment to fostering academic excellence and adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs. Committed to professional growth, she actively engages in workshops and continuous education programs, including the AoP Summer Tech Academy, ensuring she remains at the forefront of innovative pedagogical practices.


Claire's collaborative spirit extends beyond the classroom, seamlessly collaborating with colleagues, administrators, and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for every student. Her dedication to student success is evident through her mentorship of struggling learners, providing the necessary guidance and support to ensure their comprehension and achievement. 


Claire has 2 children Robert 27, who lives in Chestnut Hill, and Grace, 24 who is currently in Western Samoa as a two-year commitment to the Peace Corps.
