Thursday

Friends Central Students Volunteer at Greene Street

Every year six students from Friends Central spend five days at Greene Street, three in the October and two in May. We were thrilled to welcome them back to campus this Thursday and Friday.

The students made memory books with Roe's pre-Kindergarten class, organized the Library and Lower School Reading Room, deconstructed the musical set, and assisted in classes, among other projects.

GSFS alumnus and current FCS student, David '11, said that he loves the opportunity to return to campus and to give back to his community. "Greene Street has been my community for as long as I can remember. I'm a lifer! It's great to maintain that connection and to be back in a familiar place, he said." David has chosen Greene Street as his volunteer site every year. On Friday morning he assisted in Roe's classroom - the very place where he was a pre-Kindergarten student thirteen years ago!

Thank you to Chandra, Dan, David, Rachel, Sydney and Zayn and to their teacher, Allison! We hope to see you all again next school year!
