On Thursday afternoon, eighth grade students presented their research on atomic science subjects. Choosing a topic from a list supplied by science teacher Josh Goodstein, students were able to delve deeper into topics including particle wave duality, quantum weirdness, electron clouds, and the Higgs Boson particle.
"This was a really fun project," said 8th grade student Nyna. "I liked learning from and sharing with my classmates. We all do one part of the work and all get to benefit from each other."
Students were very creative with their presentations, using PowerPoint, models, and cupcakes to explain their topic.
As students visited each other's stations, they filled out a packet of questions created by Josh, including questions about what makes up an atom and weird behaviors of electrons.
