On Tuesday, parent Shuchi and grandparent Krishna visited Kathie's and Roe's Pre-Kindergarten classes to share about and celebrate Diwali. Diwali is the Hindu celebration of light celebrated every fall. It celebrates the good things in life and the inner light in each person. During Diwali, people put lights and candles around their homes, dress up in new colorful clothes, and make beautiful murals outside of their homes (Krishna's incredible example is below!).
After learning about India and Diwali traditions, students enjoyed homemade samosas, dancing to Indian music, and making crafts. They took home elephant decorations and coloring pages showing Hindu boys and girls in traditional festival attire.
A very special thank you to Shuchi and Krishna!
