What are the Costa Rican Pen Pals Doing This Week?
After a fun first week visiting every classroom at GSFS, the Costa Rican pen pals are keeping busy exploring Philadelphia and beyond with the 8th grade.
On Saturday, they took a day trip to New York, followed by a relaxing rest of the weekend with their host families. On Monday morning, they presented at the middle school assembly, sharing about their school (GSFS students were amazed to learn that they study 15 different subjects!) and singing a traditional song about Costa Rica. Immediately after the assembly, they boarded a bus to Washington, DC to see the sites! They returned to Philadelphia on Tuesday evening to prepare for a fun day on Wednesday - bowling with the 8th grade and a morning trip to the aquarium.
The Costa Rican pen pals will spend the weekend with their host families celebrating Thanksgiving and enjoying time together before they leave next Tuesday.
